Forming the next generation of Catholic leaders requires intentional mentorship, immersive formation, and a focus on the whole person. The Thomas S. Monaghan Founder's Scholarship Program (FSP) offers students this transformative experience within the Catholic liberal arts tradition at Ave Maria University.
Taking a tour around AMU, you won't find Chancellor Monaghan's name on buildings, classrooms, and halls. Though his legacy covers every corner of campus, it's exclusively this student scholarship that bears his name. It was of vital importance to our chancellor that we offer a holistic scholarship program committed to educating, inspiring, and discipling these students. True to the witness of the scholarship's namesake, FSP exists to support students in becoming wise and prudent leaders for the good of the campus community and the Church.
Throughout the four-year program, students develop the virtues and skills necessary to rise as leaders, prepared to live their personal vocation confidently at home, in the workplace, and in their communities.
When the prestigious scholarship program provides monetary support to its recipients, it is more than money. Generous and devoted support impacts the entire experience.

“I believe the greatest gift we can give a student is an education grounded in time before the Eucharist. This is why the Founder's Scholarship exists: to support students who will lead, serve, and pray before they act. Adoration changes hearts, and changed hearts change the world.”Thomas S. MonaghanChancellor & Founder, Ave Maria University
As FSP scholars, students will read and discuss Scripture and other spiritual texts, host Catholic formation events, and provide fellowship between students, faculty, and their peers.
These students are encouraged to strive for the virtues of dynamic faith and learning, community formation, and sacrificial leadership.
By investing in FSP, donors ensure that the University can provide this environment which exists to form leaders who are ready to rise, and who are equipped to carry Christ's light into the world.
